One of the most beautiful mountains I’ve ever seen: Artesonraju in the Peruvian Cordillera Blancas! I just came back to civilization after a try on its south east face together with @bjarnesalen . Perfect conditions awaited us at arrival, but the next day hard winds destroyed the snow and arriving at the bergshrund skiing seemed optimistic. However, we were there and i thought I’ll give it till sunrise before making the final decision. At 5700m sun rose and things didn’t look pretty. Ice topped stratugis at best in gusty storm winds. Finishing to the top felt like a rape of a fine experience, going down like taking defeat with a high head. The later felt like the only sensible thing to do, and it wasn’t a pretty ski. The last part of the acclimatization is done and a beauty is calling for a future return!
