A week of vacation in Stockholm

After the award last weekend we had some adventure plans, but the conditions in the mountains where not on our side so I got a good week of vacation in Stockholm with Magnus Kastengren. We where having easy days with rock climbing in the sun, sometimes accessed by ice-skates, a visit at Kings of Tennis tournament watching McEnroe slay Muster, dinners with friends and I also managed to visit the Haglöfs head quarters for a day of meetings. It was a nice and calm week around the Swedish capital, perfect for rest and to recharge motivation. It definitely felt a bit strange to not be close to big mountains in mid march, but now I’m super motivated for the spring projects to come!

Bon Appetit EP6

Watch the Bon Appetit boys come by Chamonix for a few runs the other week on their adventure through the alps! French ski humor at its best from Fabien Maierhofen, Galuchot Victor, Tony Lamiche and Nico Favre!

JP Auclair and Andreas Fransson in the Mont Blanc massif EP1

JP Auclair came by Chamonix a few weeks ago to have a Chamonix style ski week together. We had an awesome time, skied some great snow and hopefully we managed to show a small part of what Chamonix has to offer and what’s going on in our heads while skiing in the mountains! This is episode one out of two!

The male adventurer of the year in Sweden 2011!

Today I won the prize “The male adventurer of the year in Sweden 2011” at Vildmarksmässan in Älvsjö just outside of Stockholm! It was great to be there, meet everyone and to take home the biggest prize of its kind we have in our small country. It’s also the first time someone from the ski community has won such a prize, making me extra content. I won the prize mainly for the adventure I had together with Magnus Kastengren on Denali last year when I managed to pull of a ski of the grand south face of North Americas highest mountain. Read more about that adventure here.

Other winners on the event where:

Anneli Wester taking home the “Female adventurer of the year in Sweden”, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner winning “The European adventurer of the year” and Lars Cronlund winning “The adventurer of the decennium 1980-1990”.

Stockholm

After the long trip I spent a day in Stockholm doing loads of meetings as well as hanging out with some great friends. Night was spent at Magnus’s in at the lake in Täby, one of the coolest places I know in Sthlm.

Chamonix – Sweden: Cruising north!

Yesterday Bjarne and I drove back north towards Sweden. After 18 hours, at 3 o’clock at night, we arrived in Orust to the Sahlén headquarters. Today, I’ll continue to Stockholm for some amazing times before we’ll return once again to the mountains at the end of the week!

A powder day with Bon Appetit!

Today was my last day in Cham before I’m going to Sweden and I spent it in the best way possible – skiing powder and shooting with Tony Lamiche and the boys behind Bon Appetit; Victor Galuchot, Fabien Maierhofen and Nico Favre.
We started the day on Brevent and spent the afternoon on Midi skiing the Ronde and the Paraface. We had great weather, wonderful snow and perfect company. Now I´m already looking forward coming back to Cham again. Tomorrow will be a big day, when Bjarne and I are driving the 2100 km to Stockholm… Life is good!

The day started perfect. Parking like this where I’m from in the north doesn’t exist (there is so much space), so i must have been lucky!
